2024 Call for Executive Committee Directors

As the Network continues to expand, the CBPN is looking to assemble an exceptional Executive Committee that will provide support in helping the CBPN achieve its goals.

About

Born out of the inaugural November 2019 Toronto Black Policy Conference, the Canadian Black Policy Network (CBPN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a network across Canada of individuals and organizations interested in addressing issues that impact Black communities through policy. The CBPN is committed to providing collaborative and innovative spaces and events (including workshops, training sessions and the successful biennial Toronto Black Policy Conference) to enhance the engagement of Canada’s Black communities in the public policy process and to support the exploration of public policy’s impact on those communities, with interested Black groups and allies.

We strive to be a community of experts and influencers, looking to amplify the collective Black voice through building relationships and collaborations. We work in partnership across political and non-political organizations and networks of supporters to grow the collective Black voice in Canada’s policy and political processes.

The current roles available on the Executive Committee, consisting of operational volunteers supporting the work of the CBPN, are described below. These roles differ from the Board of Directors positions, which have already been filled. Please note that each role will be held for a two-year term and are all on a volunteer-basis, with the possibility of an honourarium. Each role requires a contribution of approximately 5-10 hours per month towards the Executive Committee (of note, time commitment may increase depending on whether a major event is approaching).

To apply, please submit a letter of interest and resume to [email protected], using the subject line, “CBPN Senior Operational Team – [Insert Title of Position You Are Applying For]”. You are welcome to apply for more than one position; however, we ask that you please submit a new, independent application for each position you wish to apply for. Please send your applications to [email protected] no later than Tuesday February 13, 2024 by 11:59pm EST. Interested individuals from across Canada are welcome to apply.

Should you have any questions throughout your application process, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

We look forward to receiving your applications.
